Dorothy L. Babcock

August 25, 1922 - December 30, 2011

Dorothy L. Babcock, 89, of Janesville, died Friday, December 30, 2011  at Our House Assisted Living in Janesville, where she had resided for the past several years.  She was born August 25, 1922, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Ullius) Alwin.  After graduating High School, she was employed at Parker Pen.  Dorothy married Wesley W. Babcock on June 25, 1946.  He preceded her in death on December 5.2007.  Dorothy later worked for and retired from the Janesville School System.  She was a life-long member of the First Congregational Church in Janesville.   Dorothy is survived by one son, Wes (Sue) of Pardeeville; two daughters, Cindy (Larry) Vordermann  of Milton and Char Babcock of Evansville; two granddaughters, Stefanie (Jeff) Braunreiter of Janesville and Megan Babcock  of Pardeeville; one brother, Donald (Jean Cramer) Alwin  of Janesville; four sister-in-laws Mary (Kenneth) Roach of Janesville, Eileen Kopp of Evansville , Betty (Daniel) Davey of South Carolina and Evelyn  Alwin  of Janesville;  numerous nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her husband, special grandson Aaron , brothers  Edgar , Harold and Frank; sisters Clara O’Brien, Esther Christianson, Ethel Arenz and Virginia Karlen, as well as numerous in-laws.  As Dorothy requested, a private service was held with Rev. Wes Bixby officiating and Henke-Clarson Funeral Home assisting the family.  A special thank you to Our House  Assisted  Living, Agrace Hospice Care and Dr. Aaron Best for all the care and kindness throughout Mom’s final days.  Memorials may be given to Agrace Hospice Care  or  the First Congregational Church of Janesville. www.henkeclarson.com.
